I can't begin to tell you what the second Saturdayof every month has become to me. What started as discussion one evening on the Greenway has turned into a major component of my life. One of my favorite authors said this:
"I love the way a book connects people, even if some people loved it & some people hated it. Reading together means we entered the same story, we walked the same streets & witnessed the same deaths & weddings. It means whatever was different about our paths--whereever we were, we were carrying around the same story, reading a few pages at a time, staying up late."

She is exactly right. There is something exhilarating about reading a book knowing several other ladies are reading along with you. I'll read a part now and think "hum..I wonder what A will think about that" or "Oh I just know S will comment about this Saturday." Probably my favorite part about reading with these ladies is the discussion that happens when we're done. Liking the book or not doesn't really matter...our discussions about the book...about the week...about life, forgiveness, guilt, grace, love, church...that is what Saturday mornings are all about! I couldn't have dreamed that this little book club would become what it has to me. I've learned so much about myself, God, marriage, life that I never would have expected would come from such an unlikely place. You girls know who you are. thank you thank you thank you for sharing your thoughts on a book with me....for sharing your life with me. Last month we met for dinner instead of the usual breakfast in honor of Shauna Niequest's new book "Bittersweet." It is a MUST READ if you've not picked up a copy yet. Donna, Stephanie & Denise made a fabulous Italian meal for us and I seriously ate myself sick it was all so good! Thank you ladies for making this night so special!

Lisa, just like Shauna, your writing expresses just how I feel about our group. Book club is my favorite morning of the month and I am so happy that you are now a part of my life. (Although I am a little concerned about your lying!)
