About Me

I'm adventurous when I want to be, but I'm just as happy watching a movie at home. I'm married to my best friend who makes me laugh on a regular basis & a son that makes me happier then he will ever know. I strongly feel that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Christ and your relationship with others.

Some exciting news!!!!

John and I are moving back to the south!!!!!!!!!!! He was offered a job at the Wells Fargo branch in Dalton GA as a credit manager. It was up in the air for awhile about what I was going to do, but I found out last Friday that I'm able to keep my job! We are going to try it out and see how it goes for a few months, but I feel confident it will work out. We are so relieved! We both feel like we're making the right decision and that was confirmation that we are. I told John a long time ago it would have to be a God thing for this to work out! I have a horrible habit of taking something great like that and "logically" saying "of course it worked out," ultimately taking the credit away from God, but I wont' do that this time. This is God!!!!!!!

We feel like we took a step of faith when we agreed to move back just with a guarantee of John's job even though it was less money than what we currently make. I'm so glad we did b/c the lord has provided once again! We will move down prob. Aug 21-22, but the details are still not set...he starts Aug. 31.

The job is in Dalton GA, but we don't plan to move to Dalton so he'll have a little bit of a commute. We want to buy a house once we get back...not sure if it would be Chattanooga, Ooltewah or Cleveland, but I know God has the right house out there for us! Between work trips (2 before I leave), packing our house, looking at houses for sale online & trying to figure out how to work from home, I can't tell up from down! I'm just ready to be settled and get a routine again, but for now I'll try to enjoy the ride. :)

It is exciting, but we will deeply miss the people that we have daily interactions with here in Rochester. This has been an unbelievable experience for the both of us and we are so so glad we made this journey. I'm sure you will here more about this soon enough! :)

Lordy Lordy Look Who's....FIFTY!?!?!?!

John and I left the Saturday after Katie's wedding and visited with Marbi & Andrew in Atlanta, which was wonderful! I can't believe we didn't take one picture! We left from there Sunday afternoon and headed back to Anderson SC. I worked all week from Steve & Janet's office & hung out with the family at night.

My mother-in-law doesn't look fifty yet, but her big day over the hill has arrived! :) She decided to have a Mexican themed party on Saturday and "toned it down this year" so there were only around 50 or so invited! My parents came down Th. night and Friday after work Cameron & Brad came down too. No one loves parties more than Janet. Steve calls her birthday bashes "Janover."

Janet's brother Stevie is in residency in Johnson City. He is married to Kim and they have four kids. Brandon (10), Caleb (7), Brooke (5), Blake (2). Janet & Steve are rotating the kids through to stay with them for about a week or so. This week they had the oldest Brandon and the youngest Blake. Brandon played pretty good by himself, riding bikes, playing on the trampoline, swimming, riding the go-cart or four wheeler. Little Blake was everywhere you went. The best thing is that he was deathly afraid of dogs before and now (as you can see with these pictures) is totally fine with them. In fact, one of Deena's puppies went home with the family!

Katie & Michael Tie the Knot!

John and I drove to Cleveland for the week of Katie's wedding. We stayed in Abby's awesome new house & helped work on wedding stuff all week...printing programs, putting together wedding favors, wrapping gifts, etc. It was like a little sweat shop in there!

We took some time to visit with friends & made the most of every moment we were there. It was a blast. Katie & Michael had a perfect wedding and one bumpin' reception thanks to Ricky! I was so honored to be part of their special day. These two are so great together & it was a special day for me to be a witness as they committed their lives to one another. I planned on typing more and not having a ton of pictures, but I decided to do the exact opposite. Here are some pics. for you to enjoy!

This deserves a blog of it's own, but since I'm so behind I combined it together. Here is Abby planting flowers before the wedding festivities get started. Her grandmother sent her KY dirt b/c she said it's so much better than TN dirt!!! I knew their family loved KY, but Mrs. Jones took it to a new level! :)

the "magical" dirt ;)

"KY dirt for Abby"

We grabbed dinner one night with Mica, Joe, Kevin, Marissa & baby Ella. Mica, Marissa & I grew up together in Oak Ridge!

she is the cutest thing ever!

Cameron was a trooper printing programs, menu cards, etc for the wedding. She did all the "paper stuff" and it looked amazing!

Patty (katie's mom) and aunt Pam made over 1,000 buckeyes for their wedding favors. Those ladies were in the kitchen for over 8 hrs. baking, rolling & mixing away! Not one peep of complaining either! We put the boxes together & made them look pretty. John helped & was in charge of counting. :)

slavin' away (John, Karen (Michael's mom), Abby & Michael

Michael's dad was a huge help!

This is Tonya doing some wives tale on Arhmin to determine if she is having a baby girl or boy! We all did it and it was hilarious!

All hands on deck!

We stopped one night to view a space station that was orbiting the earth. Astronauts John and Steve made sure we didn't miss a thing!

Sydney is Katie's precious cousin. She is also Abby's secret daughter. She would organize everything....separate the ribbon, alternate colors with the programs. She is very structured & we love her for it.

Is John helping or playing!?

Ironing the table runners & hanging them up! Way to go, Brad!

No one was exempt, even Teddie helped out! She's a trooper!

Cameron was practicing putting hot rollers in my hair. We forgot they were plugged in and they sat there for at least an hour so when we put them in it was burning my scalp. The boys said I was a sissy...they had a contest on who could hold it the longest....I think Brad won.

Like anything could get through that helmet of hair!

ready for the bridesmaid luncheon! Arhmin's mom Suzy did a fantastic job with the luncheon...everything was perfect.

yum yum we want some!

Katie made us each a scrapbook of our friendship with her over the years & wrote a sweet note to each of us. We also got a bag with our name on it and jewelry for the big day!

Lindsay Sluder made both the bride's and groom's cake! Check her "sugar jane" site out on the side of my blog, she's so talented!

Who could forget the "napkin game." Sadly my camera died after this, but for more on the wedding go to Shawn, Abby or Rachel's blog!

I'll say one more time how honored I was to be a part of this ceremony. Katie has been a great friend in so many ways. We've had a lot of fun together at college, in DZT & working at Lee together and she's always been there for me when things were tough. We've come to know one another so well, that we have an understanding that goes beyond words. Katie & Michael have a deep friendship & have vowed to keep Christ first in their individual lives as well as in their marriage and that tells me they are going to have an unbelievable journey together that is full of happiness and laughter. Congratulations you two!!!!!
