Well, the election has come and gone & I can't say I will miss anything about it. Praise God that the political ads are over & they will find something else to talk about on Good Morning America besides analyzing every move the candidates made & reporting on what they had for breakfast. I could never be a political analysts....the numbers and the guessing...wow. I will however miss the SNL skits, but there is always youtube for that!
Obama is our next president. I can't say that I'm excited about what is to come, but I'm anxious to see him in action. I'm not as fearful as some and I don't plan to move to another country, but asking me to be "excited" is asking too much. I'm happy that many Americans have an extra "boost" in moral about our future, but it's his vision of change for this country that makes me wonder how so many can feel confident in what he's proposing. It simply comes down to disagreeing on how our country should be run, but that is the beauty of America. It's awesome that we can disagree & voice our opinions through something called a VOTE! I hope to never take for granted the people that have died for my right to speak my voice...to cast my vote & share my opinion. Although we may disagree I hope and feel like when it's all said and done we can still respect one another.
He's now our leader and I'll respect him for that. I'll support him for that very reason. I love the fact that he's the first African American president. I think it's awesome that so many American's have a new outlook on life and feel like they can go farther and do more with their lives...it's great. It's really the only thing I am truly excited about. I think his policies are more important then making history, which is why I could not vote for him, but I'm trying to focus on the positives...on the historical side of this event.
I pray that Barack Obama will allow the Lord to lead and guide him for the next four years. His natural charisma & ability to connect with people will serve him and our country well. I wish him the best of luck in running our free nation.
