About Me

I'm adventurous when I want to be, but I'm just as happy watching a movie at home. I'm married to my best friend who makes me laugh on a regular basis & a son that makes me happier then he will ever know. I strongly feel that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Christ and your relationship with others.

Goodbye Garden

One of my first posts was us planting our garden. I wish I would have taken more pictures of it throughout the summer because it's now on it's last leg. Our tomatoes plants are still putting on lots of tomatoes, which is great, but I'm the only one that eats them now that Matt's gone. Our peppers finally ripened & are so sweet! At one point our cucumbers took over the garden and it chocked out the squash & zucchini! We didn't have enough space for everything.

Every now and then we'll see a dog footprint in the soil, which explains why the cantaloupe didn't survive. I caught Raleigh with a vine in her mouth the other day pulling as hard as she could! She looked up at me with sweet eyes as if to say, "I know I'm not allowed in the garden, but that vine technically grew out of the garden onto the lawn so it was fair game."

It really has been great having fresh vegetables this summer. It really amazes me that after the long hard frozen winter the ground gets warm enough to produce something. In the dead middle of winter you're totally convinced there's no hope for a garden...or warmth...ever. This was my first garden besides a few plants my mom did when I was little. It will be even better next year when I know a little more about what I'm doing!

Grape tomatoes...prob. my favorite of the 3 types we planted.

I'm not sure why all the peppers turned red b/c we planed different colors, but they were still good.
