About Me

I'm adventurous when I want to be, but I'm just as happy watching a movie at home. I'm married to my best friend who makes me laugh on a regular basis & a son that makes me happier then he will ever know. I strongly feel that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Christ and your relationship with others.

Saltimbanco!

Saturday we went with Kendall and Andi shopping at the Mall of America & to see a show I've been wanting to see FOREVER! I finally saw cirque du soleit. I've been wanting to see this show since my friend Marissa saw it in High School! I still have the cd she burt me from the soundtrack of the show she saw.

The show we saw was saltimbanco-from the Italian "saltare in banco," which literally means "to jump on a bench." It was basically about the "urban life" and encompassed sky scraper, crazy characters etc. It's the only arena show they have, but they have a ton of other shows. I would hands down see any other show they have anytime!
We were supposed to go with Chris & Erica, but a work trip got in the way. :( Kendall agreed to go without really knowing what it was about. I'm not sure what he was thinking when the show first started, but "this is awesome" was probably not it! Once they started doing acrobatic things and not just singing and dancing he started to enjoy it! It's unbelievable the things they do with their bodies in that show! I seriously think John said, "unbelievable" almost every act & I often grabbed John & Andi's arm scared someone was about to die!

I didn't take any pictures!! I was afraid they would take my camera if I brought it since they posted everywhere that camera's were prohibited-flash or not-so I left it in the car. After the show we grabbed Starbucks & saw some of the pretty downtown area. They messed John's drink up somehow and gave him 2 extra shots of espresso! We thought he might run beside the car just to burn off some of his energy.

Overall it was a great night. It made me realize that we don't take enough advantage of all that Minneapolis and St. Paul has to offer. It's so close, we should go at least once a month. Please go see Cirque de Soleit if you ever get a chance. You won't be disappointed!
