So...I've decided to list 10 things I want to happen this new year! I hope this year brings lots more fun, laughter & quality time spent with those that really matter.
Ah...I seriously love that it's month #1 and we've got endless opportunities ahead. Cheers to a fresh/new beginning.
1. get in shape. I figure I may as well put the most cliche out there first. I feel like changing my lifestyle to incorporate regular exercise and eat fresh & healthy is my constant battle. I do it for awhile and then totally stop. It's horrible. I just want to get to the point where it is my life & I don't even notice I'm doing it anymore it's such a routine. Hopefully I'll end 2010 happy with my body & overall healthy habits.
2. Take vitamins. I know this is a daily routine for most of you out there, but it's not for me. I have never taken a vitamin on a regular basis. It's just that I hate to take them & end up forgetting most of the time. Maybe I'll get a pill box or something. Any suggestions on what I need to take?
3. Manage debt. We're already on our way here, but I'd like to have X amount paid off by the end of the year. Adulthood is awesome!
4. Go Green. W
e also have started doing this in different areas of our lives like getting a push mower for the yard and buying reusable grocery bags, but I'm hoping to find even more ways to do my part & not be so wasteful. BTW-we have to pay to recycle at our new place, which is a change...boo.5. Make new re
cipes. I'm just to the point where I'm good at cooking things other than spaghetti and chili. I love the recipe book my small group made us when we were in Rochester and I cooked several recipes out of it for Christmas, but I'm hoping to make new things more frequently.6. Become Crafty Cathy. John's
granny is excellent at embroidering and making cool things like my handmade house shoes she made for me at Christmas. I'd like to learn to make some of those and a few more things.7. Flo
ss. I'm bad at flossing. I get on a kick where I do it every night for awhile, but then I forget and stop completely. tmi?8. write mo
re letters. I love stationary and I love getting things in the mail so I need to do better at spreading that joy around. It feels weird to write a letter about something you could send in an email, but I'm afraid I'll totally forget how if I don't start doing it more!9. start couponing. I have some friends that are saving money like crazy. I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to this one at all. Couponing seems time consuming and overwhelming and to honest the perfect thing I want to do, but end up quitting. We'll give it a shot though!
10. Step it
up in my time with the Lord. I've considered reading the bible in a year, but I'm a little terrified of putting that officially on this list b/c them I'm bound to it. I'll let you know if I chicken out or if I push through.substitutes....
ok, I actually just have a lot more than 10 things I wanna do so I'll briefly list them here
-find a local church to get more involved in.
-give more. enough said.
-organize my photos. they are on several computers all over & I wanna make coffee table books out of them
I think if I accomplish all 10-13 things it will be one successful year!

I love your list. It's good to have a plan. We may not always accomplish everything but it's a start. As far as reading the entire Bible you can just start reading the New Testement. I have done that a few times and it's easy. This is going to be a great year for you and John. Love your mother in law
I am so excited for your goals. I have some suggestions.
For debt: read the Total Money Makeover if you have not already. It gives good steps.
For vitamins: I am terrible at this. So I started to take Flinstones Gummy Vitamins. They are for adults too and since I love gummy bears I never forget to take them. It's like a little treat.
For coupons: You can do it, but it takes about 2 months to get a good system going so stick in there. I cut my grocery bills by 2/3 and have more food than ever. I blogged about it last year on everything I did and every site I used. Publix is actually the best deals when it comes to coupons.
Good luck with your goals! I am supporting you!
I signed up for reading the Bible in a year in 2009 and while I still have about 7 days left, I'm crossing it off that I did it! It's sometimes overwhelming but totally worth it friend.
Now Lisa, there was no need to put a picture of my abs on your blog... but whhhatever...!! ;) Annd... can I say that I think your cooking is fab. We've been so cultured with your cool Minnesotan foods. :)
OK, I strongly encourage you to take a Flinstone vitamins. They are the most easily tolerated, and they are still great for adults! Also, I REALLY want to start couponing too, but I have no idea where to start, so if you get any good tips for that, let me know!! :)
