Turner Times: DZTAA Young Woman's Conference

The Delta Zeta Tau alumni association put on this event for current Lee University ladies. It was the first annual "Life After Lee." I was really impressed with the quality of the speakers, food, prizes etc. It was apparent that a lot of work went into putting this together.

The highlight for me was my college roommate and bestie Jessica was able to come into town and stay with us! She was one of the seminar speakers & chose to talk about faith in the workplace. She knocked it out of the park & I was so proud of her! Her blog can be found the side, but you won't hear anything about politics there. It's her work free zone! :)

John was so happy Tim was able to come with her & the boys reverted back to APT 5 college days. Need an example of what that would look like? Here they are jump roping with a dog leash.

Friday night Jess had a "meet & greet" with the students, but the rest of us went to dinner at Market Street Tavern. Saturday the girls hung out with Jess and listened to her talk while the boys watched baby Emory. After downing 50 wings at Beef O' Brady's the boys played their made up version of "corn hole." They came up with a clever way to keep Emory close while playing outside....let her nap in the car :) She was perfectly fine snoozing away in her car seat with the windows down when we pulled up. Saturday night all 11 + baby headed out to eat at The Terminal, which was loads of fun.

This weekend helped remind me that you don't have to see someone everyday to still be a big part of their lives. Jess & Tim will always be a big part of our lives. They are the kind of friends that you can just pick up where you left off. I cherish every minute we get to spend with them & can't wait for the next time! (hopefully that will be in DC) ;)
